Pilar and Joan Miro Foundation in Mallorca is a foundation built to house the work of Joan Miró, located on the island where he spent the last years of his life. Donated by the artist himself before his death, the structure houses an array of paintings and sculptures from his four workshops. Paintings hang from the walls inside the modern building, while sculptures decorate the landscaped garden in the building's courtyard. The foundation also offers a glimpse of the artist's former studios donated to the city of Palma by Pilar Miró, wife of the painter, for public viewing. • We enjoyed the opportunity to visit the studio and the audio visual that explained how & why it was designed and subsequently created. The gallery was a disappointment compared to say Musée Renoir...

  • An amazing combination of museum and authentic creativity site to visit. the location itself is also cool, on a hill with views. A real experience to breath the space where Joan Miró was working and discover stories and his philosophy
  • I’m not a fan of his art but this exposition is definitely worth a visit. The architecture is stunning. Would plan at least one hour for the visit. They are cashless. Ticket is 9 eur. Free parking lot across the street from the entrance.
