Create an itinerary including Castell de Bellver
A circular-shaped castle built with a dual purpose, Castell de Bellver was once the royal seat of James II of Mallorca. The central courtyard surrounds a well that leads to a water-storing cistern below the castle's foundations. The impenetrable walls also once served as a military prison after James II's reign, but nowadays the distinctive architecture attracts visitors from all over the world. The island's history museum resides inside the castle. With our custom trip planner, Palma de Mallorca attractions like Castell de Bellver can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • This is a castle with amazing views over Palma. We went by Bus 4 from Palma, and then uo the 500 steps! You can go on the sightseeing bus which includes entry in your ticket. We did this 2 days later....  more

  • Located not very far from the city center and you can either take a bus or car. If you go by bus then you need to take some 500 steps to reach the castle. The castle has a good view over the Palma city and port. They exhibit inside the castle all it's history. When you go by bus and reached by steps to the entrance, first go to the parking area where the tickets are sold and then you can enter the castle.
  • The little hike up to the castle is short and surrounded by nature (even though you're so close to the city). Once reached the outside of the castle you have great views of the Palma's landscape. At the time of this review I didn't have to pay for a ticket. Once inside, you have 3 floors, all converging towards the inner courtyard with rooms all around. Must go: the rooftop from which you can admire the beautiful surroundings!
