With a view of cliffs that inspire awe and caution, Cap de Formentor is an epic drive. Look for a cave that opens to the sea about 8 m (26.2 ft) above the water. Inside this protected alcove is evidence of the prehistoric Talaiot culture. There are a handful of other lookout points to visit, the most famous of which is Mirador del Mal Pas. In 1996, a private weather station was built at one of the lookouts to send encoded radio transmissions, which are transmitted all over the world. travellers trap !! dont go by car - no signs tels that you will have a ticket (fine) for 200 euros if you drive to the top. its a nice place but not worth 200 euros which was claimed afterwords. one..... more

Situated on the most northeastern point of the island, we slowly drove the winding roads and stopped at various lookout points in the area, which are all clearly marked. Once we got to the view of the lighthouse, the road was blocked by a fence, so we couldn’t go any further. However the panoramic views were breathtaking and well worth the short drive from Palma.

The lighthouse itself is okay, not great. But the view from there and the road to the lighthouse is a must. If you would like some astonishing photos try to reach sunset over here.
