Celebrate the history of the world's largest continent at Asian Civilisations Museum. Housed in an old colonial building, the giant collection showcases the diversity of Asia, but also fosters a sense of shared identity. Don't miss a remarkable display of artifacts found in a shipwreck dating back to the 9th century. Appreciate the intricately decorated ceramics and golden wares that went down on the doomed trading ship. You can enhance your experience with a guided tour of the museum--check the website for tour times. One of the best museums in the region with variety of collections of cultural objects and significance of history of Asian art and culture. A must see visiting the city. Perched on the bank of Singapore river, the location is close to Raffles Place and City Hall makes it easy to walk around for tourists.
Easily one of my favourite museums in Singapore! The artefacts are amazing and really appreciate the director’s explanation through the QR code scanned at certain exhibits. If you go now, there is an exhibit on Batik - really beautiful batik on display and even an interactive exhibit to learn about how batik is made!
