Create an itinerary including Field of Light
Immerse yourself in Field of Light, a solar-powered site-specific installation that boasts over 50,000 light poles covering the area as large as seven football fields. Watch the desert light up in shades of blue, violet, and ochre, as night falls on the iconic Ayer's Rock. The internationally celebrated British artist Bruce Munro conceived this fantasy garden in 1992, while taking a road trip with his wife-to-be through central Australia. Overwhelming in size, this is the latest and largest iteration of the art installation. Make Field of Light a centerpiece of your Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park trip planner.

  • Very disappointing! It has the potential to be great if they used micro processor controls to actually have a programmed light display, sadly all we got was a bunch of led lights shoved into the...

  • Underwhelming. The natural environment is so beautiful that I thought these lights would enhance its features. Instead it felt so artificial and unnecessary. Would not recommend.

  • We had a very unique experience here. Booked the dinner in filed of light experience. 5 hours tour: with sunset uluru dinner in the central of dessert and enjoy the field of light last but not least. It was quite cold at night so make sure wear long pants and bring jacket with you. The staff was funny any nice.
  • Stunning sight to see. Easy to navigate. Would have appreciated a follow up email/instructions from tour provider closer to the event - no contact after initial booking confirmation. But ularu is a small place and easy enough to figure out for yourself. Gorgeous lights, must see bucket list item :)
