  • Interesting for a short interesting stroll through a museum. Entrance is free. The old safes were fascinating and some of the history described of the time when it was still in use.

  • This place is amazing! Quite apart from the beautiful old building designed by a 19 year old, the museum blew me away. It is underrated and a hidden gem. We found it by accident during Open House Melbourne and was astonished by the depth and detail in the history that was display. I highly recommend every Victorian/Australian visit this place. There was so much information with photos, original documents (the executioner’s book!), news articles and personal stories. The people who put this together should be commended, they have done a fantastic job - it is up-to-date within the last few years. It is not publicised very well and the map location pin is not accurate for the entrance, but it’s a must see! I want to go back.
  • A great museum, and think its exhibition varies in time. Building was well maintained and the overall heritage buildings and parks around here were greatly preserved.
