Do some cultural sightseeing at Queensland Museum & Sciencentre and Chenrezig Institute. Queensland Art Gallery and Opal Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Venture out of the city with trips to TAVAS Aviation Museum (in Caboolture), Glass House Mountains (Glass House Mountains National Park & Parrots in Paradise) and Caloundra Lighthouses (in Kings Beach). There's still lots to do: identify plant and animal life at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, hike along Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, examine the collection at Mapleton Observatory, and explore the striking landscape at Mount Coolum.
