A lush headland that's part of the forested Daintree Region, Cape Tribulation was so named by Lieutenant--later Captain--Cook in 1770, when his ship ran aground in the area.
Spend the 10th (Mon) exploring nature at Daintree National Park. There's still lots to do: take in the pleasant sights at Marrdja Botanical Walk, get a new perspective on things with Boat Tours & Water Sports, kick back and relax at Myall Beach, and trot along with a tour on horseback.

A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
Explore Cairns' surroundings by going to Palm Cove (Spas & Palm Cove Beach) and Australian Butterfly Sanctuary (in Kuranda). Spend the 12th (Wed) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. Spend the 14th (Fri) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Very much a town with an emphasis on the tropical lifestyle, Airlie Beach offers exotic surroundings with palm trees and charming, sandy beaches.
On the 17th (Mon), take in the pleasant sights at Coral Beach and the Beak, Conway National Park, then enjoy the sand and surf at Airlie Beach Lagoon, and then see the world from above with a helicopter tour. On the 18th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: race across the water with a speed boat tour.
