Recovering from the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 was no easy task, but Christchurch has faced the challenges with aplomb.
Visit Port Hills and Riccarton House & Bush for their historical value. Geraldine Observatory and Taylors Mistake - Awaroa / Godley Head Walk are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Change things up with a short trip to Washpen Falls in Darfield (about 1h 35 min away).
