Munich, Germany

— 20 nights

Village of a Million People

Often described as the city of laptops and lederhosen, Munich is an international center of business, engineering, research, and medicine that still maintains a rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions.
Venture out of the city with trips to Maria-Hilf-Kirche (in Murnau), Schloss Neuschwanstein (in Schwangau) and Schloss Hohenschwangau (in Hohenschwangau). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Marienplatz, take in the spiritual surroundings of Frauenkirche, see the interesting displays at BMW Welt, and contemplate the long history of Nymphenburg Palace.

To see photos, other places to visit, maps, and other tourist information, refer to the Munich online route maker.

Use the Route module to find travel options from your starting location to Munich. In March in Munich, expect temperatures between 11°C during the day and 0°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Fri) early enough to travel to Madrid.
