A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
Visit Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse for their historical value. You'll get in some beach time at Meelup Beach and Hamelin Bay. Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
On the 5th (Tue), take in the dramatic natural features at The Gap and Natural Bridge, examine the collection at National Anzac Centre, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Greens Pool. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 6th (Wed): see the interesting displays at Albany's Historic Whaling Station and then stroll through Little Beach.

Start off your visit on the 7th (Thu): get engrossed in the history at Broome Historical Museum, explore the striking landscape at Gantheaume Point, then identify plant and animal life at Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park, and finally explore the different monuments and memorials at Japanese Cemetery.
