A relaxed town of tree-shaded streets and scenic coastal stretches, Broome gained renown as a center of the pearling industry in the late 19th century.
Keep things going the next day: enjoy the sand and surf at Cable Beach and then get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour.

Sydney to Broome is an approximately 8.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. The time zone changes from Australian Eastern Standard Time (New South Wales) (AEST) to Australian Western Standard Time (AWST), which is usually a -2 hour difference. When traveling from Sydney in August, plan for warmer days and a bit warmer nights in Broome: temperatures range from 36°C by day to 17°C at night. Exmouth

Exmouth is a town on the tip of the North West Cape in Western Australia. Exmouth is known for wildlife, beaches, historic sites, nature, and adventure. Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Venture out of the city with trips to Bluff Knoll (in Stirling Range National Park) and Greens Pool (in Denmark).
