A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
Take a break from the city and head to Scuba & Snorkeling and Palm Cove Beach. We've included these beaches for you: Trinity Beach and Nudey Beach. Go for a jaunt from Cairns to Palm Cove to see Spas about 34 minutes away. There's much more to do: get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour, kick back and relax at Yorkeys Knob Beach, let the river carry you with a rafting and tubing tour, and trek along Esplanade Boardwalk.

A holiday in Port Douglas balances an activity-filled getaway with plenty of opportunities to relax, thanks to its proximity to the Great Barrier Reef and bustling beach life.
Get outdoors at Scuba & Snorkeling and Hartley's Crocodile Adventures. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Port Douglas: Thornton Beach (in Thornton Beach) and Daintree Entomological museum (in Diwan). There's lots more to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Wildlife Areas, see the vivid underwater world at Opal Reef, take some stellar pictures from Flagstaff Hill Lookout, and head outdoors with Horses in Port.

Located right in the center of Australia, the national park boasts perhaps the country's most iconic natural symbol and a sacred place for the region's indigenous people--as well as Kata Tjuta, a collection of 36 red rocks forming an equally distinctive sight.
On the 25th (Wed), take an in-depth tour of Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, then identify plant and animal life at Kuniya Walk, then explore the activities along Mutitjulu Waterhole, and finally explore the striking landscape at Uluru. Keep things going the next day: get outside with Walpa Gorge, take in the awesome beauty at Kata Tjuta / Mount Olga, and then appreciate the views at Valley of the Winds.

Lent iconic status as a result of its famous bridge and opera house, Sydney has a down-to-earth charm that enhances its spectacular setting and functional efficiency.
Get outdoors at Bondi to Coogee Beach Coastal Walk and Manly Beach. Relax by the water at Bondi Beach and Store Beach.
