Situated on the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss, York has witnessed an abundance of major political events throughout its two millennia of existence.
Kick off your visit on the 19th (Tue): explore the ancient world of York City Walls, see the interesting displays at York Castle Museum, and then see the interesting displays at National Railway Museum. On your second day here, have some family-friendly fun at Yorkshire Activity Centre, indulge your thirst for a good beer at Brew York, take a stroll through York Shambles, then admire the landmark architecture of York Minster, and finally appreciate the history behind Yorkshire Regiment Boer War Memorial York.

Grasmere is a village and tourist destination in the centre of the English Lake District. Kick off your visit on the 21st (Thu): stroll through Helvellyn, then hike along Alpacaly Ever After, then explore the activities along Derwentwater, and finally see the interesting displays at J.B.Banks and Son Ltd. On the 22nd (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take some stellar pictures from Walla Crag, explore the activities along Easedale Tarn, and then make a trip to Lake Grasmere.

Change things up with these side-trips from Cheltenham: Bath (The Roman Baths & Bath Abbey), Chavenage House (in Tetbury) and The Cotswold Range (in Somerford Keynes).
