Standing on a rocky hill and overlooking the river, Bratislava Castle dominates the city and offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, including the neighboring countries of Austria and Hungary. The massive, fully restored building is topped with four corner towers. Look for the well-conserved original part of the structure, the 15th-century Sigismund Gate. The castle houses the national museum and four halls exhibiting archaeological findings, such as the prehistoric statue of the Venus of Moravany. Catch a concert at the Baroque chapel, now converted into a music hall. If you get hungry, dine at the restaurant housed an erstwhile Baroque stable facing an English park. Bratislava Castle Reviews
One of the things I recommend while in capital of Slovakia is to visit the Bratislava Castle. Built in 9th century. It is prominent landmark overlooking the city. Definitely worth to see. more »

A taste of old Europe that is accessible for non royalty. Attended an event here that was fabulous. I think that's all real gold highlighting the various rooms. Great view from up on the hill. Definitely go for a night time event. I didn't see it the normal tourist way.
Great place but could be better if not for renovation. Disabled people and people with small children beware: you will have to climb stairs worth of 18 floors and it’s not an easy walk. Otherwise the views from the top and the castle are worth the trip. Not crowded and as everything in Bratislava; off the beaten track
