Boca do Inferno, or "The Mouth of Hell," features a natural rock arch with a cave that is known for sucking in ocean waves and shooting water out the top. Nestled in a dramatic environment of eroded cliffs and enormous waves, the site is a well-known photography spot. You can easily reach it by foot, and then follow stairs and bridges around it to get a better view or climb down to the cave if the ocean is calm. Be aware, however, that locals advise against climbing due to the sharp rocks. Got dropped off here by an Uber. Nice spot for pictures by the ocean. There are cafes, shops and restaurants around. The restaurant Mar do Inferno was highly recommended but we weren’t hungry enough..... more »
Amazing rock formation at the sea. Take a walk along towards Cascais to explore even more. The nature is remarkable. And if you return take a bite and have a drink at the "Rocha do Inferno" at the entrance. It worth a visit regardless the weather. Actually, is the weather is stormy, it is much more dramatic.
Interesting place to see. You can really see the power of the ocean here. Unfortunately, as in such a place, there are usually a lot of people. In close proximity there are toilets and a few pubs - but no revelations. There is a bus stop nearby, and there are parking spaces for private cars. If you are close you should come and see!
