Musee Tiskiwin, Marrakech

4.1
Discover the culture of the Saharan region on a visit to Musee Tiskiwin, a small private museum that displays a variety of relics and art pieces from a number of North and West African countries. The charming museum, situated in a turn-of-the-century Moroccan-style mansion, houses the collection of Dutch anthropologist Bert Flint, from his travels in Saharan and Sub-Saharan Africa. Explore the museum rooms, each one designed to represent a caravan stop on a desert journey, and view handicrafts, jewelry, and textiles from different cultures, including Berber and Tuareg. • Small and grotty. Standard stuff. Cramped, dark, dusty. Residing feeling of 'so what'. It is cheap so if you have never seen African objects maybe of interest.  more »
  • Where do you find this yet. In a beautiful riad, in the middle of Marrakech, an oasis of tranquility, an astonishing collection. Exhibited in a very private way, which is accessible and friendly. Mr. Bert Flint, my daughter, first year student of cultural anthropology, has enjoyed. Thanks! Refreshing.

  • Beautiful artifacts in poorly organized, poorly maintained old riad. Worth the visit if you're interested in Berber artifacts
  • Absolutely outstanding! Wow!
