Visit the unusual Snake Temple, where venomous pit vipers breed, slither freely, and lazily hang on the branches of potted trees. Although the locals believe the sacred incense smoke hanging in the air renders the vipers harmless, they take the extra precaution of devenoming the snakes. Pose for pictures with a Burmese python and take a tour of the snake farm, where monks breed a wide variety of serpents. This temple was built around 1850 in memory of the Buddhist monk Qingshui, a benevolent man who allegedly gave shelter to serpents of the jungle. Snake Temple Reviews
-
Visit only if you like snakes. Animal conditions would be average, but most snakes at the exhibition are denied shelters. They have huge reticulated python and a couple of nice albino burmese. more »

Its free to look around this small temple with lots of snakes. Well worth paying to see the snake collection including the pythons and King cobra. more »

Very pleasant and popular temple with novel attraction - snakes! Interestingly this temple is one of a cluster of places of worship. Nearby is a Hindu temple, a church and a mosque. The snakes are concentrated in the breeding pen, hanging in moistened trees. But beware they are also hanging about in other designated places too. Other than the snake feature this looks like a fairly routine temple inside, with more attractive outdoor area.

Really cool place! They let you hold a huge python and a viper, and take photos for you for a reasonable price. The person handling the snakes is very friendly too. And finally, it's completely safe - so don't be afraid!
