Mt. Yoshino stands as part of a World Heritage Site of sacred pilgrimage routes that spread across the Kii mountain range. Divided into four areas, the mountain consists of the Shimo Senbon, Naka Senbon, Kami Senbon, and Oku Senbon. From Shimo Senbon, you can hike up the mountain, or jump on the ropeway to Naka Senbon, where you'll find the bulk of the hillside town. Take my advice, go at peak bloom. Do not wait. It will not be as good and probably not worth the effort if you're too early or too late. Japan-guide dot com and other sites have the cherry blossom... more »

It’s quite a nice place but definitely lots of tourists and shops dedicated to them. They had a lot of cherry blossoms but I don’t think I would go out of my way again to come back (1.5 hours from Osaka one way). Worth the experience but other than that, nothing too special
