  • This is a mountain park of wild monkeys. There are signs you don't make eye contact with monkeys. If you do, some provokes you screaming. It was quite scary. It's a bit of hiking and you meet several....  more »
  • Our visit to the Monkey park was one of the highlights on our trip to Japan. Even though it was a very warm walk up to the top of the park, it was totally worth it! The first thing we did was to go...  more »

  • this experience was amazing!! be prepared for the hike - wear comfortable shoes and bring water! it's straight up a mountain for 20-30 minutes, but it's all relatively paved and easy enough if you go slow. The monkeys at the top of the mountain are AMAZING. They are so cute and comfortable around people. You can buy snacks in the store to feed to the monkeys from the viewing area. The view out to Kyoto is amazing as well. All the staff were very kind and polite. We could have stayed up at the viewing site for hours! Loved it.
  • Quite a hike both ways to get to the top. No monkeys on the way up or down, but lots at the top. There are informative signs on the trails and a little shop at the top. You can buy a bag of peanuts for 100Y and feed it to the monkeys through a mesh! The baby monkeys were very cute. It’s about a 20 min hike to the summit, and the summit closes at 4:30pm. I think they stop selling tickets at 4pm
