Set in a well-preserved forest sanctuary at the foot of Mount Unebi, Kashihara Jingu represents the place where the first Japanese emperor ascended the throne. The popular Shinto shrine's campus provides space for large gatherings; you may also visit the gong and watch locals performing thai chi. The current building was constructed in 1889. The site houses food shops inside, and it is only a 10-minute walk from the railway station.
