Ef saga pönksins er ekki sögð á yfirgefnu almenningsalerni á Bankastræti 0...hvar verður hún sögð þá??

The Icelandic Punk Museum salutes the Icelandic punk and new wave scene that started in Iceland in 1978. This music scene is the fertile soil all the now famous Icelandic acts can be traced back to.

  • JUST GO. No more questions. OK I'm adding this part after reading some other reviews. Yes it's small and you can go through there quickly. But this museum symbolizes punk its underground, it's in a toilet and it is a stone's throw of the Parliament building, the man, government. You can't talk to a book about The Sex Pistols and I talk to the guy who is running the museum for a 1/2 hour and left enthused and invigorated about listening to old and new punk. There is a human element to this that is not found in a book
  • Buy a book about punk rock and learn more about the history of punk rock than from this claustrophobic so-called museum. A cute little distraction that throws in tidbits about a trend that brings nostalgia to a few rockers. Still, a slight, "why not" diversion to do because the owner obviously worked diligently to plaster the walls to pass on his love for punk, affording him the leisure to listen to punk music all day long.
