This particular place has.got very good atmosphere. I was there there times during my short stay on Iceland and each time I spent more than an hour, drinking very good coffee and herb tea and checking books. The only bad thing about the place is that prices of books are very expensive.
Iceland is a nation that reveres the written word, and you will, in this store, find many books containing Icelandic words arranged most artfully, along with a vast selection of Icelandic magazines and newspapers written on actual paper. (Remember those?). English speakers will not feel left out, as there are a good many books that have been translated from Icelandic to English, books about Iceland, calendars, and non-crappy souvenirs. Add in a first-rate little coffee shop with fresh pastries, as well as a lovely and helpful staff, and it's hard to go wrong.
