Relax the way the Icelanders do, with a trip to a geothermal spa. Laugardalslaug features a series of outdoor pools of different temperatures, ranging from 36 to 44 C (97 to 111 F), as well as a larger pool for lane swimming. In addition to the pools, the park offers picnic and barbecue facilities, a soccer stadium, sports hall, botanical gardens, and a zoo. The gardens feature local trees, flowers and vegetables, and some tropical plants. Try the hot tub filled with heated salt water for a slightly different experience. Unwind in the steam and sauna rooms, or get some excitement racing down the waterslides. Popular with tourists and locals alike, a visit to the pools represents a very Icelandic experience. However, note that local ritual involves showering naked in public before swimming in the pool. I love to spend my time here! The pool is outdoors and coming here at rainy day gives you unique experience. Just imagine siting in hot tub while rain is pouring on your face ;)

After falling from the bathtub in our hotel and barely walking, we came here to take in the beauty and the animals. It was a very emotional time after going through a painful divorce and feeling alone. The people are respectful and quiet but friendly. The animals are well taken care of. Bundle up and go!
