Iwokrama Forest

One of the world's few remaining unspoiled tropical forests, Iwokrama Forest encompasses 3,700 sq km (1,400 sq mi) of lowland wilderness rainforest. The area claims the highest number of fish and bat species in the world, and the diverse animal life also includes jaguars, eagles, river turtles, anteaters, and caimans. The Makushi people make their home here and still live in a traditional way, while visitors explore the canopy via a series of suspension bridges and observation decks. All Iwokrama Forest tours spend the night along the eastern edge of the park, at the Iwokrama River Lodge. Iwokrama Forest is in Guyana.
