Städtisches Stadion an der Grünwalder Straße (also known as Grünwalder Stadion and Sechzger Stadion) is a football stadium in Munich, Germany. It was built in 1911 and was the home ground for 1860 Munich until 1995. Local rival Bayern Munich also played in the stadium from 1926 until 1972, when they moved to the new Olympiastadion. It is the home ground of the second teams and the U–19 teams of Bayern and 1860. As of the start of the 2013–14 Bundesliga season, FC Bayern Munich (women) also play their home matches at the ground. Since 1860 Munich was relegated from 2. Bundesliga to Regionalliga Bayern at the end of the 2016/2017 season, the senior team returned to the stadium.

The largest crowd was 58,560 in 1948 at a game between 1860 Munich and 1. FC Nürnberg.

The Monty Python sketch The Philosophers' Football Match, though pretending to be in the Olympiastadion, was filmed in this stadium.

  • Went to have alook around the stadium as I was in Munich for a few days very disappointed as walking around there was no club shop to buy anything could not do a tour also walking around the stadium.....  more »
  • I always admired the dedication of fans of visiting football teams. They mingle, vastly outnumbered, with the home team fans, unperturbed by the danger they are in. The cops in riot-gear always look.....  more »

  • Nice small stadium and home to the "Löwen" as they call their team, the TSV 1860. A friend of mine got me a ticket and we were in the hardcore fan seating on the Westkurve. It was a cool experience as you can see how dedicated the real fans are for their team. As the game ended in a draw (0x0) the atmosphere was peaceful but I supposed it can get a bit more agitated if they win or loose a game. I suggest going with someone who is a regular attendee of the stadium to have a nice experience.
