Explore exhibits on urban transport, travel, mobility, and technology while learning about the historical, economic, and political contexts of these developments. Of course, a variety of old vehicles are on display. Tours are typically given in German; you can ask for one in English for an extra fee. This was a very interesting place. I think everyone in Munich with a small boy was there. There are 3 halls full of all kinds of vehicles. You can go inside some of the train cars. There is a... more »
Overall, I've seen the two Deutsches museums: the main one in the centre and this one. Honestly I much more preferred this one and I encourage all foreigners to choose this one as well. Here everything is translated from German and the whole exhibition is very interesting. I am a grown man and it was a true experience seeing all these historical cars and trains in one place. I think you can see it all in the span of 1,5 hours if you don't read everything.
It's a nice spacious well lit museum, not only vehicles but everything required to maintain or move them, like train signals or relay switches. Go inside an old train to see what it looks like or look at the moving parts inside a car engine. It really is for people of all ages and can do it either in 40 minutes or take 4 hours to read up on everything. A very nice children's area with blocks and a slide to go from second to first!!
