To see some truly one-of-a-kind art, take a stroll along East Side Gallery. This 1.3 km (0.8 mi) long stretch of the Berlin Wall is near the center of the city. One of the largest remaining portions of the former border between East and West Germany, this now serves as an international memorial of freedom. You'll see that the remains of the wall are painted with provocative and thought-provoking murals, political and otherwise. This open-air art gallery is a work in progress, so you'll find that creative local artists constantly add new images. Stop by to have your picture taken in front of a living piece of history. East Side Gallery Reviews

When I saw the reviews I was very excited to see this, but I found myself slightly disappointed. After seeing the first few pieces of artwork it becomes rather repetitive and at times distasteful... more »
Visiting this place is actually a good way to enjoy Berlin and learn a bit about its history. But it might be really crowded as it’s very touristic. The art works here are very interesting and enlightening also the area is quite good place to just strolling around.
Even cooler than the pics look! It’s really amazing how much history this city holds and this wall is a representation of just one segment. When you leave the Ostbahnhof, the wall is pretty much right outside the station. The well-known kiss painting is located pretty close to where this pin is located, so it’s just a few minutes walk from the station.
