Small but rich in cultural attractions, Jewish Museum in Prague counts among Europe's best-preserved ghettos. Paradoxically, Hitler's intent to create an "exotic museum of an extinct race" here served to ensure the small enclave's continued existence through the destruction of World War II. Within the confines of the atmospheric neighborhood, situated within the old town, you can explore six historical synagogues and a medieval cemetery, one of the oldest and largest surviving Jewish graveyards in the world. Start your tour at the compact quarter's 13th-century Gothic synagogue, the oldest active synagogue in Europe and a rumored resting place of Jewish folklore's famous Golem. Jewish Museum in Prague is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Prague Edition.

Complesso museale itinerante all'interno della cultura Ebraica con varie tappe da visitare. Interesting visit at times very touching as in the pinkass synagogue and spooky as in the ancient cemetery. A little out of the way the synagogue of Jerusalem but that deserves to be visited. Recommended.
The story of the Jewish quarter history is great, but a museum with just some artifacts, a couple of empty synagogues and the beautiful, but 'empty' cemetery don't bring the vivid past alive. The entrance fees are steep and you'll visit a hollow shell of what the quarter used to be. Beautiful, yes. But it's just bricks and stones you'll discover.
This is a stunning gem you’ll have to visit. I’d suggest you spend more time in this glittering location and take in the grandeur it has to offer. While you’re at it, bring along a wide lens to capture the beautiful interior.
