The Barber Shop Reviews
Cool bar hidden at the back of an actual barbershop. Great selection of drinks. Good ambiance. Nice crowd. more »
Fun twist walking through a barber shop to get to the bar. Crazy dark in there. Could hardly read the menu. Enjoyed the cheese board. The drinks were original, great selection. Bring your wallet... more »
I had been there to get my hair cut once two weeks ago, though when I was greeted with a stern “Got an appointment?” Along with No smile from one of the barbers - I confirmed that I did, their attitude changed. The cut was good nonetheless, and I was looking forward to returning in a fortnight. This morning I called them at least 45 minutes in advance to let them know apologetically, that I may be Ten minutes late - max. I would completely understand if I was told from here “Oh I’m really sorry, but your barber is completely booked out today, unfortunately if you aren’t able to make it on time we will need to reschedule your appointment.” Yes- that would have been completely reasonable. And I would have obliged. No, conversation went as this: Me: I thought your website says that you’re allowed to me ten minutes late at the most? Barbershop: He can do a 20 minute hair cut but I don’t know what the quality of it will be! (If I’m going to pay almost $60 for my haircut there is no way I’m trusting his prediction.) Me: Fine, I’ll cancel. Barbershop: Bye! End of Call And within half a second I received the email that they cancelled my appointment. No trying to retain a new customer, no calling me back to reschedule. The hair cut I received a fortnight ago was not glorious enough to outshine their poor lack of basic customer service and manners. And for a $58 hair cut- you would expect no less.
Third stop on our impromptu Sydney bar crawl and I have to say, I loved The Barber Shop- especially since it has an actual Barber Shop incorporated into it. Very cool, dark wood decor and it is definitely the kind of bar I could spend countless hours (and dollars) in! Loved the Dirty Martinis.
