  • Super team, very good advice. The shop is the Kiteboarding equipment reference in Australia. If you need anything, they'll get it for you.  more »

  • I gotta say I really didn't want to take a lesson because $250 for 2 hrs is quite a bit of money. I looked for other alternatives and trying to get friends of friends to teach me, but in the end bit the bullet and got lesson. Really glad I did! The instructor Thomas was really good. Straight into it with no wasted time. I'm an impatient person but not once was I thinking of the clock ticking. Neither was it rushed either. Thomas gave very calm and clear instructions and helpful feedback. I was very impressed by his teaching and couldn't ask for more. Friendly person too. I really felt I got my money's worth. It felt like he really did want to teach me and see me succeed, rather than just a business to make money. Also when you consider the insurances, brand new gear and 1 on 1 tuition, it's really not a bad price. I'll definitely be back for more. Also the people in the shop are really friendly and helpful too. You can see they are really passionate about the sport and genuinely want to see other people having fun too. The whole feeling is more like a club than a business! I'm super impressed by the whole lot and looking forward to many more visits! P.s. Other than being genuine value for money, I also think you should do lessons locally out of respect for the sport. It's a small community and if you show it respect and learn safely the other people will respect you a heck of a lot more and help you out too. Best advice is to buy or hire a trainer kite from the store before your first lesson. I'm a paraglider with good kiting skills but still felt the trainer kite helped me a heap and is really good fun. I'll be back to change my hire to a buy!
  • Last summer had a lesson with Kitepower. The instructor was nice, but did not give the proper value of the money. Wasted first 1 hour in training even though that day there was no wind and all other lessons were cancelled. Booked the rest of the hour another day and had a good lesson.
