Clark Island Reviews
Very poorly organised event. Waited forever to get on the ferry from city. Came down cats and dogs on way over. The organisers would of known about the predicted wet weather. No catering for this... more »
Poor event management meant that 480 people tried to get dinner in small marquee. Described as a three course buffet, we were given a small bowl and knife and fork. Meat eaters got 5 different meats..... more »
In previous years at Wine Island I would have given this 5 stars but this years experience has left a slightly sour taste in my mouth. No longer can you purchase a bottle of wine to consume whilst there (at reasonable prices) but now you’re forced to buy by the glass at ripoff prices. What used to be a great experience for a reasonable price is now just too expensive for what you’re getting. The organisers are clearly going for a cash grab rather than offering a great experience that people want to keep coming back to. I won’t be going again.
Rip-off. Paid $200 per head for tickets which entitles you for some tastes of wine. Gets frustrating queuing for wine so try to buy a bottle but licence laws prevent this. So have to queue for each and every glass. Burned through another $250 buying for friends and myself. My friends had the same experience. Upon reflection I could go to a two hatted restaurant, eat a degustation with matching wines for that price. To top it off we arrived at 3.45pm for a 4pm start and the ferry was there but refused to take us. No other trips were planned so spent $100 on a water taxi to get to Clark Island. Yes it has nice views but the queues and expense massively take away from the experience. I don't need to go back next year.
