Trip Planner: South Pacific / Australia / Queensland / Cairns Region / Smithfield / AJ Hackett Cairns
Get a dose of adrenaline at AJ Hackett Cairns, owned and operated by an innovative New Zealander who popularized the extreme sport of bungee jumping in the 1980s. Inspired by the indigenous ritual of land diving and experimental jumps conducted at Oxford University, Hackett developed a super-stretchy elastic cord and then demonstrated its use by throwing himself off the Eiffel Tower in 1987. Today, the company offers over two decades of experience and a choice of 16 jumping styles that excite and test adventurers of all levels. You can also choose to experience Australia’s natural world at high speed and from a great height on the Minjin Jungle Swing, the only multi-person swing in Australia, swooping through a tropical rain forest at 120 kilometers (74.5 mi) per hour. Using our international travel planner, Smithfield attractions like AJ Hackett Cairns can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

AJ Hackett Cairns Reviews
It’s was an absolute amazing experience!! If you’re ever travelling to Cairns make sure you stop in and do the bungy and giant jungle swing.. The staff are amazing, kind, helpful and funny!! more »
A complete debacle! The guy behind the counter needs to focus more on serving all customers rather than only trying to impress only the young females with his cringeworthy ‘coolness’. Waited in line..... more »
It’s an amazing experience. Thrilling, exciting, enthralling and enticing. The jump is an adrenaline rush. For all first timers, my only advise is, DO IT. And for all repeaters, keep doing it again. The facility is nested in a green canopy styled space. It’s Australia’s highest jump. Side note, you can also hire this place for private parties.
Bungee jumping and swinginging was great and a lot of fun. However, their prices were not listed anywhere, except ON THE BACK OF THE TOILET CABIN DOOR. So I paid for an "UNLIMITED JUMPING 1 DAY PACKAGE", expecting s that I'm getting a deal, which ended up coming with a lot of *** and footnotes after I had already paid and they kicked me out 3pm, instead of at closing time. So I ended up paying a double price of what I would've paid if I had gotten individual jumps. And there are still $70 on top of that that I cannot figure out what they charged me for. So, DO NOT TAKE "THE BIGGEST DAY OUT PACKAGE" - IT'S A HUGE SCAM.
