Take a self-guided walk through Loch Ard Gorge and experience the forces of the wind and the sea, shaping this rugged scenery for thousands of years. Steeped in history, this wild stretch of coastline remains known for the abundance of shipwrecks that have perished under the frothing sea. Notice the two pillars--named Tom and Eva after the two sole survivors of 1878 Loch Ard shipwreck--guarding the shore from the rough waves. A series of steps lead down to a wild beach offering stunning views along the way. To learn more about the area's history, visit a small museum nearby. Is one of the most gorgeous tracks and places that I have ever see in my life, the trekking is super easy and there's 2 ways just to watch the arch from the easy Mirador or go down to the beach and... more »
Impressive Nature at her finest. Beautiful park. From the car park there are three paths all are worth the walk but if limited on time choose the one at the far right and take the stairs down into the gorge. View the remnants of limestone caves and a gorgeous view of the Southern Ocean through the gorge. Limited amenities.
One of the better landmarks across the great Ocean Road. It might be further away from Melbourne than some of the other attractions, but it's well worth the drive. Went there over new years so of course it was extremely busy and full of tourists, but I guess I was one of them as well. Bit of a walk down, but you be happy you did it.
