At Barron Falls, walk down the gently sloping boardwalk to the viewing point and see where the Barron River descends to the Cairns coastal plain. Protected within the Barron Gorge National Park, substantial rainfalls occur during the rainy season. The falls are used to supply the Barron Gorge Hydroelectric Power Station located downstream. Bring your lunch and have a picnic or grab a bite at one of the eateries. You can reach the falls via the Kuranda Scenic Railway or Skyrail aerial tram. Before you head to Kuranda, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Kuranda day trip site, to make sure you see all that Kuranda has to offer, including Barron Falls.

Barron Falls reviews
Disappointing thar it was closed, especially when there are no signs to indicate it - just fenced off. Plenty of people trying to visit but turned away more »
Absolutely stunning falls, very tall and picturesque, especially during the wet season I’m sure. Can be seen from the sky rail, train or observation platform. Definitely worth a look and beautiful... more »
Great and scenic in the rain season! A must see. If you have a car you don't need to catch the expensive train, but just follow the signs and park on top of the path along the woods. Marvellous nature walk of about 15 minutes on a safe platform and magnificient views
Definitely worth seeing! Such an amazing view. 100% recommend to everyone. You can get there by car, the access is very easy.
