This wildlife sanctuary in New South Wales offers a rare combination of free-roaming Aussie animals and ancient Aboriginal rock art. When you enter Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary, expect to be greeted by kangaroos. Wallabies and emus hop along the path to the visitor center. Along the 3 km (1.85 mi) of walking tracks, you'll see animals such as wallabies, wombat, flying foxes, and crocodiles. Meet Zoe, the park’s most-photographed kangaroo, with her sparkling studded collar. You can also get a photo with a koala or python. The rangers tell stories about the animals and their survival in the bush. At Aboriginal Heritage and Bush Tucker/Medicine tours, see the Hawkesbury engravings, one of 4,000 engravings, stencils, and paintings in the area. We spent a fab day here with friends, learning lots and interacting with all of the animals. Behind the scenes, you can really see how the animals are cared for and how much work goes into running..... more »

We had a great day in Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary. The visit was relaxed, the kids joined activities offered by the sanctuary. There are animals running around that make the place feel real, unlike a zoo. The prices are very reasonable and there was no massive crowd. We had the best day !!!
