Gantheaume Point is one of a few places in the entire world where you can see dinosaur footprints dated to the Early Cretaceous period (approximately 130 million years old). These ancient tracks can only be seen during very low tide, but there are also plant fossils preserved extensively in the area's sandstone deposits and in coastal exposures farther north. The site features red cliffs and turquoise blue water, attracting visitors from around the world. Time your visit to the area for a low tide to see the dinosaur tracks, or stop by at any other time to enjoy the otherworldly landscape (often compared to that of Mars). The contrast of the red sand against the blue water makes for stunning photographs.     Make sure you visit this spot in Broome at both high tide and low tide! It is so beautiful and incredibly unique with the red rocks and the blue ocean.  more »

    A very beautiful place. You can drive with your car until the end of the road. When you walk around you will see very different stones and colors. If you walk a little you can also see young eagles. It is just beautiful, don't leave Broome without going to the Gantheaume Point.

    My favourite place in Broome. Went down there every morning for a swim and sunset at night. Easy to drive your 4x4 on beach without letting tyres down. So dog friendly.
